Furniture Project

The Furniture Project is a program that provides good used furniture, such as beds, dressers, table and chairs, to local households in need at no cost. The Furniture Project is sponsored by the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center; donations are managed by the Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Furniture Project serves all of Johnson County and the communities of Kalona and Riverside in Washington County.

Donate Clean, Gently Used Furniture

Furniture may be donated in one of two ways; by dropping off or scheduling a pick up. Please be aware that materials are accepted at staff discretion. We ask that you call in advance if you have further questions about whether we accept specific items. All donations are tax deductible.

  1. You can drop off donations at the store any time during our receiving hours, Wednesday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The ReStore is located at 2401 Scott Boulevard.
  2. Donors may call the ReStore at 319.338.5687 or 319.325.6716 to schedule a pick-up. Because we use volunteer staff we must have all pieces on the ground floor or garage and we ask for a $10 pickup donation to cover our expenses.
