Recycling Programs

Habitat ReStore

While Habitat promotes affordable building for partner families, the ReStore is an avenue for all community members to maintain their homes. The ReStore accepts donations from the public and sells them back at a discounted rate, allowing items to live longer and to be recycled in a responsible way.

Furniture Project

The Furniture Project is a program that provides good used furniture, such as beds, dressers, table and chairs, to local households in need at no cost. Not only does this help families in need, but it limits the waste that we put into the landfill.

Visit the Furniture Project page to learn more.

East Side Recycling Center

Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity is located at the East Side Recycling Center. Expansion is underway for the Center, and it will eventually provide a site for citizens to reuse and recycle materials and to learn about waste- and storm water-related issues.

Learn more about East Side Recycling Center and when construction efforts will begin.

Cars for Homes

By donating a vehicle to Iowa Valley Habitat’s Cars for Homes program, you help us build houses in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable shelter. Not only will your donated vehicle benefit our affiliate, but you will help eliminate waste in the landfill and even receive a tax deduction!

Cans for Habitat

Cans for Habitat raises money to build houses for Habitat for Humanity by encouraging people to recycle their redeemable aluminum and plastic beverage cans.

See how you can get involved in turning your aluminum cans and plastic bottles into homes for local families.
